Founded in 1957, the School of English Studies has been providing pioneering and proven methods of teaching English for 50 years. We were the first school in the UK to launch an Executive English course and the first in the world to open a dedicated listening centre. SES is accredited by the British Council and is a member of EnglishUK.

Your teachers are experts

Studying at SES will give you unique access to our experienced team of English teachers that encourage intelligent learning. They have written over 40 English teaching books between them and are committed to sharing their knowledge and experience with you. Joining us this year as the Director of Academic Development is Mark Fletcher the internationally known pioneer of Brain-friendly learning. Mark is responsible for ensuring that SES remains at the forefront of innovation and setting standards in English language teaching. Our staff are here to make your studies their number one priority.

An academic environment

Our residential courses for Young Learners are run in nearby Wye College - providing a unique opportunity to experience UK college life and practise your English language skills.
