Summer Courses for Young Learners 14-17 years
Summer courses for young learners are offered to young learners aged 14-17 years in July and August at our summer centre for teenagers in Folkestone. The programme is an intensive programme which includes 30 hours of English language tuition per week plus a full programme of cultural activities and full-board homestay accommodation in local homes.
The lessons give students the opportunity to build their confidence using English in a variety of situations. The language skills which students develop equip them withd the confidence to communicate effectively in English beyond the boundaries of the classroom.
A Full Day of Learning – 30 hours per week in small class of maximum 8 students (14 – 17 year olds)
The curriculum delivers a full education in English, including political studies, business studies, mathematics, history and creative writing skills. The English language lessons teach the four key skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. In addition, further sessions include Life Skills lessons, Academic Subject lessons, Project Class and Coaching/Assessment sessions with a tutor.
Activities and Excursions
On one evening per week there is a social activity for all students. Every Saturday there is a full day excursion to London with visits to Covent Garden, the Science Museum and Harrods, or an outing to Brighton or Canterbury.

Homestay accommodation provides students with a safe and comfortable place to stay. Most families are within walking distances of the school and there is no other student of the same mother-tongue in the same home. All homestays are thoroughly inspected and their credentials checked.
Folkestone is situated in Kent, on the south east coast of England with easy access to both London and France. The school has excellent facilities including light, airy classrooms and easy proximity to the town and beaches.
Students are greeted by members of the school courier team from either Heathrow or Gatwick Airport or from Ashford or Ebbsfleet International rail stations (Eurostar).
